CREMASTER - Interview Kunstner: Cremaster - Interview med: Kivi
Revolution-Music: Hallo. First of I would like to congratulate you on your new album “Pumpernikel”.
Kivi: Ok, it`s good. I think so.
Revolution-Music: Could you start out by introducing your self and tell us what part in the band you have?
Kivi: I`m Kivi, my part is to dig in the ground by means of the piece of wood and taking out the worms. Then the worms are cooked by our second thin member of the band – Monter. After that Łysy and Badhed eat them all, but they do not like the worms so they puke them at once. The worms come back to the ground so that I could take them out again.
Revolution-Music: How and why did you come up with the name “CREMASTER”? Does it have any special meaning?
Kivi: The name of our band was created by our friend Tabak. It is a name of the muscle which holds the testicles. As we are the fans of dicks and pentagrams we thought that`s a perfect name.
Revolution-Music: How did you all come together, and became the band you are today?
Kivi: We passed our exams to university and always thought that this will bring us lots of money. Well it took us a short time to understand that it will not. Then we decided to start with grindcore band, but we didn`t know how to play grindcore. That`s why we play as we play now. Then we gained one threadwormed bassplayer and a vocalist with blood in his eye. And that`s how it started. Before Łysy and Monter we had also one catholic in our band. Of course he does not play anymore becouse it was very confusing for us.
Revolution-Music: This album is released trough UKRAGH' PRODUCTIONS, how did the contract get established, and how are they to work with?
Kivi: We met Edward on one of the fests in Poland. Probably he liked our red track suits. We played at very late hour so everyone was drunk. Maybe that`s why he liked it. He proposed us to publish our stuff and the word became flesh between the legs of an old witch, as it is said in an old danish proverb.
Revolution-Music: Why did you choose the title “Pumpernikel” for this record, does it have any special meaning?
Kivi: Pumpernikel is a kind of black diabolic bread which makes you fart. I forgot to say that besides being the fans of dicks and pentagrams we also like farts. That`s why we named our album like that.
Revolution-Music: When you started working on this album, how long did the process take from the first step to the final product? Was it hard to write new material for this record or did it come naturally for you?
Kivi: It wasn`t hard to write a material for this album and it came naturally. Usually everything comes for us naturally, especially farting in church and burping on family dinners.
Revolution-Music: Where did you record the album, and who produced it?
Kivi: Mr.Rysio from Lynx studio was responsible for mixing the cake, and the process of baking was handled by Mr.Jacek from SPAART in Boguchwała. Amen
Revolution-Music: How was it to work with him?
Kivi: Cosily as usual, because they have comfortable sofas.
Revolution-Music: Are you trying to express something through your music?
Kivi: The might of farts, majesty of dicks and the power of pentagrams.
Revolution-Music: How has the album been received by the press, the critics and the fans so far?
Kivi: I don`t know, I do not read any press, I do not hobnob with critics, and with fans we usually talk about farts and dicks instead of music. But as there is always someone to talk with, it means that the album was received good. Let the god give all of our 36 fans lots of vodka and cover them with his dick in cold long nights.
Revolution-Music: What is your view on the group’s position in today’s music scene?
Kivi: 69
Revolution-Music: How would you compare the material on “Pumpernikel” to your previous material?
Kivi: Demos were the best, I do not remember the debut cause I was too drunk, but I think it wasn`t much better than Pumpernikel.
Revolution-Music: How would you define your style?
Kivi: e=mc2 .
Revolution-Music: What kind of stuff did you grow up listening to, and what kind new music do you listen to these days?
Kivi: I listened to my old pa playing redneck songs on his guitar, it was great so now I also play redneck songs but in more modern way. Now I listen to an old metal and new not metal.
Revolution-Music: Have any of these bands been source of inspiration for the album?
Kivi: Yes. Especially old metal and new not metal.
Revolution-Music: In your time as musicians, what is your biggest musical achievement so far?
Kivi: Pissing of the whole student dormitory with singing Limbonic Art and Emperor in 2002. Noone could pass our art neutrally.
Revolution-Music: Could we expect any European tour and maybe se the band in action here in Denmark any time soon?
Kivi: If there is anyone who would like to organize it, why not? We won`t do it ourselves because we have to talk about dicks, blurps and farts so we do not have much time.
Revolution-Music: How did you think the music scene is in Europe, compared to the scene in the US?
Kivi: Just like Pearl Harbour with Grunwald in 1410.
Revolution-Music: What would be the ultimate tour, festival or show for you to play at?
Kivi: I do not dream about stuff like that. But the forest of dicks, the fart thunders and buzzing of blurps would be a great thing.
Revolution-Music: Do you have any breaking news with the bands?
Kivi: www.cremaster.pl
Revolution-Music: That’s all we’ve get this time, do you have anything that you'd like to add or say?
Kivi: That`s all, but I would like to add something: 2+7=9
Revolution-Music: We would like to say thanks a lot for you’re time. And we wish all you guys all the luck in the future whatever it might bring. And thanks to UKRAGH' PRODUCTIONS for setting this interview up.
