May 21st I get an email from Dennis asking me if I'd be interested in playing on the new one. I couldn't believe it. In fact I didn't believe it at first. I thought he was joking. He found me on James Murphy's page and checked out my playing and felt I'd fit their material. (Alex is no longer playing with them. He moved to Nicaragua.)
Well, I've always been a huge SOLSTICE (and Alex Marquez) fan. Ever since that first album, I've been hooked. What a great combo of death metal and hardcore styled riffing, with mid-rangy raspy vox. Intense as hell. Second album "Pray" was great too, with new vocalist/guitarist Christian Rudes! Long story short (and wow I can't believe nearly 3 1/2 months have passed since Dennis contacted me)..........I'm in, have been working on the material on my own (and had a live jam with Christian once)...... and recording it all next week. Then the guys will be recording the guitars, Christian's vocals (which are going to rule) and bass all up in Toledo." |
